I owe you an apology for not sooner attending to your invitation. I have been very deeply and closely engaged in a political campaign in the State of Illinois—during the present autumn which has quite occupied all my time until now. I find on my table numerous invitations to lecture—and to comply with them all—leaves me little choice of Evenings. I will gladly lecture in Syracuse on Monday Evening December 11th. Please write me if this will Such your Convenience
