ROCHESTER, Nov. 26th, 1854
FREDERICK DOUGLASS: DEAR FRIEND: Please acknowledge fifty dollars, from JOSEPH STURGE, Esq., of Birmingham, Eng., received by me in aid of the sustentation Fund, which I have been some time endeavoring to raise, with a view to the security and permanence of your Paper. I desire, also, to tender, thus publicly, my sincere thanks to our philanthropic friend, for the generous response to my appeal in behalf of the Paper.
