The four days meeting, held in the Rye Neck Congregational Grove, Westchester Co., N. Y., under the auspices of the First Colored American Congregational Church, Sixth Street, New York City, commenced, its session on Thursday, August 16th 1855, and continued until the following Monday 6 o'clock, A. M.—The occasion was highly interesting, and we believe productive of much good. The number of persons upon the ground on Sabbath afternoon was between two and three thousand, of all shades and complexions, who pald every attention during the hours of divine service. An appeal was made to the audience at the close of the afternoon services, in behalf of the new church edifice, which is now under course of erection, which resulted in fifty-one dollars cash. The stockholders of said grove merit great praise for the very rapid improvement they have made within the last few months. Said meeting called the attention of many who spoke in the highest termms of the enterprise, and hoped that it might mature all its desires by the way of benefitting and improving the surrounding community.
