W[illia]m H. C. Stephenson to Frederick Douglass, March 2, 1855
ERRATA.—In the article to which my sig-
nature is affixed, published in Frederick
Douglass' Paper, Feb. 12th, the following
line reads thus: They follow the crowd un-
willing to incur the singularity of turning
from the better track. Should have read:
They follow the crowd, unwilling to incur the
singularity of turning from the beaten track.
There was also a mutilation of the article
published January 29th, in which the pro-
noun, common gender, plural number, is used
as a substitute for one of the masculine gen-
der, singular number.
