Sir,

We have been very much interested in the accounts we have lately seen of the efforts for the useful employment, education, and elevation of the Slaves, who have become free

during the conclusions of the last few years in America. We do not know so much as we could wish to know of what is being done, but what we hear fills us with the hope that the Almighty has heard the united prayers of many, & that freedom is beginning to dawn.—We watch the result with great interest, & in token of our good will & sympathy my children

have been preparing a little concert, to come off in a few days. The proceeds of all they offer for some use in the great cause to which you have for so many years devoted your talents
