Charles R. Douglass to Frederick Douglass, December 14, 1866
Rochester Dec. 14th '66
Dear Father,
Both of your letters were duly received finding us all well. Invitations keep pouring in. Yesterday I recd. a letter from Ticknor and Fields with cheque for $100, which I handed to mother for safe keeping also an english letter. A letter here from Mary E. Kendall Plymouth Mass. states that Dec. 19th, the Buckley minstrels will have the Hall, and they wish you would give them some time in Jan'y.
McElroy of Syracuse writes, can you give them an evening bet. Jan 8th and 17th. I had a letter from the boys last
week they were well. The equal rights Convention has just broken up here it was very well attended. Mr. Remond took tea with me last night after calling on mother. The weather here now is very cold
with a little snow. We have taken off as much of the hill as you desired, leaving it a little sloping towards the road.
Ticknor & Fields say they will publish the remainder of your article in the January number. I am waiting at home, Libbie sends her love.
Aff. Your son,
Charles R. Douglass
