Charles R. Douglass to Frederick Douglass, June 11, 1868
Washington D. C.
June 11th 1868
Dear Father,
I received your letter this morning. I had supposed that Lewis had acknowledged the receipt of the check or I should have mentioned it in my last. As soon as I read your letter this morning I sent it around to Lew.
About the picture of Freddie, I am sorry to say that I have been again disappointed, but they will be ready soon, and if good enough, I will send another. We are all well. Lew I think will be doing something for himself by this time next week, Mayor Brown having promised him a position.
Strawberries are selling here at 8 cents per quart.
Love to Mother,
Aff. Yr. Son,
