Dear Father
Your letter of the 21st inst. came to hand yesterday. I was glad to hear that all at home were well. I am not at all displeased with any advice you choose to give me. I did wish to get a lot here and have a small house put up, but as you say, I shall wait until I am able to do it with my own earnings. About the sleigh, I will pay to have a new dash board put on it and then whatever it will sell for I will make up the balance and refund you the $50. this I shall surely do if you will only have it taken to some shop and have it repaired at my expense. I am more than thankful for your offer to take care of Libbie while she is with you, I will as soon as possible have her come here. I have recd. a letter from Lew. and one from Fred. they were well
and spoke encouragingly of the times. Lewis has been chosen secretary of a silver mining Co. and is also in the printing office with Fred. Mr. Wormley told me to say to you that he hoped you would come down here this summer, he wants you to promise that you will stop with him when you come: Have you sold John? or do you intend to keep him, You did not say whether the buggy had one or two seats. Give my love to Libbie, and mother and say that I am well and doing well. My situation is the best I ever had and I mean, if possible, to keep it.
