Martha W. Greene to Frederick Douglass, November 25, 1865

Worcester Nov. 25 '65

My dear friend

I see by the papers tonight you are to speak in Worcester Dec. 14th I need not say I am glad—If you see my last written after our Summer vacation—you will not be surprised to know, that our house having been sold, we are about moving—we are to have a shelter, close by the Highland School, where we shall of course have a niche for you—If you will write me in what [illegible] you shall come I will meet you with the Horse and Carriage at the Depot—In any case the Hack-men all know the drive, and will

take you in [10?] minutes to us—I could not help hoping you would call on us, on your lecture from Boston, the other day and watched the trains with much eagerness—

William & the children [illegible] in much love to you—

Always truly yours

Martha W. Green
