Abby L. Brigden to Frederick Douglass, January 7, 1848
God speed thee and thy associates in their great and good work. I will take the paper as long as I can command a dollar, even if it be only one. * * I rejoice that the men whose brethren cannot speak for themselves, can and will speak in their behalf.
Yours, for our oppressed Fellow countrymen,
Abby L. BrigdenBrigden, Abby L.
Not much is known about Abby L. Brigden other than that she was from Ohio. The only other records that can likely be tied to the author of this letter are mentions of her in the Anti-Slavery Bugle.
