Hon. Fred. Douglass,

Dear Sir,

Yours of Jan. 26th to my sonFairchild, Charles Grandison

Charles Grandison Fairchild (1843-1933)
is before me. I am glad you are considering favorably our invitation to address the assembly at our commencement July 1st. The audience will hardly be less than 2,000. I hope you will be able to come.

It is important that we know very soon where you can come, for if you can not we must look for another man.

We shall abide by my son's offer as to compensation.

Yours truly,

E. H. FairchildFairchild, Edward Henry
