William W. Hanna to Frederick Douglass, March 15, 1877

Frederick Douglass Esq.

Washington, D.C.

Dear Sir,

Did you deliver a series of lectures in "Victoria Hall" Belfast Ireland, sometime during the year 1856 or 1857? I was a boy at that time, and was attending school in Belfast. I attended a number of the lectures and received from them my very first lessons in the cause of human freedom.

I have lived in this country of my adoption for many years, and have tried to carry out by my acts the principles of liberty installed in my mind at that time.

I hope I may have the pleasure of hearing from you

Yours Resptfy

Wm W. HannaHanna, William M.
