J. C. to Frederick Douglass, December 29, 1851

Cedarville, Dec. 29th, 1851.

Friend Douglass:—Can something be done for those incarcerated brethren, Drayton and Sayres. Shall they continue to lie in the dungeon of this nation, in the nation's capital, for an act which Washington and La Fayette and Kossuth would be glorified. Can something be done for them? Will you enquire and answer?
